As we transitioned from the book of Judges (when there was no king in Israel and every man did what was right in his own eyes) to the books of 1 & 2 Samuel (when God gives Israel the kings they've been wanting) we spent a bit of time in the book of Ruth. It's a book that provides some family background on King David and teaches us the important concept of the kinsman redeemer. It's a brief, but very important bit of history and foreshadowing of the ultimate King to come. This study began on February 15, 2011.
